About me

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I'm Jemma, a 29 year old Disney obsessed 'adult' (ish) with a deep love for chocolate, musical theatre and the colour pink.

I am engaged to my fiancé, Ben, who I sometimes refer to as B on social media. We met on the dating app Bumble, which is SO funny as I was so against dating apps! We live in the North West of England with our baby girl, Penelope, who was born in August 2022. We also have a black cat called Nora, who is always getting into mischief!

During the summer after I graduated from university, I worked at Walt Disney World as part of their Cultural Exchange Program. As a HUGE Disney lover, this had always been a dream of mine and I still sometimes can't believe it really happened!

I love taking photos and writing about anything and everything that I'm interested in, which is essentially how this blog and my Instagram started! I really enjoy having 'my own little corner of the internet' where I can share my passions and interests with others.

I am very clumsy, sometimes talk in my sleep and overshare massively on social media.

Why did I start a blog?

As a full-time primary school teacher, I always felt like I didn't have any hobbies outside of that. I spent my evenings and weekends obsessing over work - trying to get ahead, trying to stay on top of everything and trying to complete my never-ending to do lists. I also struggle with anxiety and depression from time to time and desperately needed something to help me 'switch off' from all of my worries.

Writing and taking photographs have been two passions of mine since I was a child. All of my reports from primary school mention my love for reading and writing! I was constantly writing something - my diary, a short story, a play script that I would force my sister to act out with me... As I grew older, my passions for writing and photography continued. I had wanted to start a blog for years, but put it off out of fear. I was terrified that people I knew in 'real life' would find it and judge me. Imagine where I'd be now if I'd ignored those fears and started back then?

It was during lockdown of 2020 that I finally decided to go for it and start an Instagram account, a place where I could be creative and share my illustrations, thoughts, passions and general life with others. After gaining more confidence, I finally started this blog in August 2021. It's a place where I can share anything - from my interests (like fashion and musical theatre) to more personal posts (like my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter, Penelope).
