Reflecting On 2021 & Looking Forward To 2022

*Oops! This post is a bit later than I had planned, due to taking a little bit more time off over Christmas.

2021 started with COVID still looming. We went into Tier 4 and were only allowed to mix with family on Christmas Day, meaning that B and I spent New Years Eve at home alone instead of with my family as we usually are.

The year was mostly a blur of home learning, positive cases, bubbles closing, lateral flows 2x a week... to be honest, 2021 was as COVID-centred as 2020!

We decided that, after spending so much time during lockdown at home, we wanted to buy and move into a new home together. After looking around for a while, we found our dream home and began the (very, very long) process of buying and selling.

In July, we finally moved into our new home! We still have a lot that we want to do to it, but it's ours and we couldn't be happier. It's definitely a forever home (especially because I can't bear the thought of moving ever again!)

In August, I started my blog! It's something that I have wanted to do for years and finally decided to go for it this year. It's been such a great, rewarding and creative outlet and has been so much fun. I'm excited to see where it goes in 2022!

In December, B proposed on my 28th birthday! It was such an amazing, wonderful surprise and the best way to celebrate my birthday. I wrote a whole post about the proposal here if you wanted to read all about it.

As 2022 begins, unfortunately there is still so much uncertainty with the pandemic still ongoing. I'm going to try not to put as much pressure on myself next year and, although I will have some goals that I'm working towards, I want to give myself a bit of a break! I feel like I burnt myself out massively last year trying to do everything all at once, at the expense of my mental health. Next year I want to try to practise more self-care and look after my mental health a bit better. That being said, I will write another post with my goals for 2022 soon! What was your best moment of 2021? What are you looking forward to in 2022? Let me know in the comments below!
